MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION, HELD AT THE CORNER POCKET, SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 6TH 2008

Mr. Emerald Mohammed acted as Chairman and Miriam Rodriguez acted as Secretary of the Meeting.
OPENING REMARKS
Mr. Mohammed started by welcoming everyone for making the effort to attend. He went on to congratulate the National Team on their achievements at the Americas Cup and Caribbean Cup competitions held in Trinidad in July. The Team placed 4th overall in the Caribbean Cup. He commented that this was the best to date that any Cayman Islands Team had ever done and he thought it was remarkable. He made special mention of Edsell Haylock who won the men’s singles to become the Caribbean Champion. He also mentioned Cliff Weeks and Rodan Asuncion who made it to the finals in the men’s doubles.
AWARDS
Mr. Arthur Ebanks said that he thought it was appropriate to present all the National Team Members with trophies for their achievement in Trinidad so he went ahead and purchased the trophies from the funds of the Association and presented each Member with an individual trophy. He called on the Cable and Wireless Manager to make the following presentations for the recent local league games:

FINANCES
Mr. Arthur Ebanks announced that he took over the Association with US$250 and CI$700. He stated that he was pleased to announce that there was a total of US$369 and CI$9,000 currently in the accounts.
ELECTIONS
Office of President
Mr. Arthur Ebanks was nominated by Paul Anglin and seconded by Chris Upstone. Mr. Ebanks accepted the nomination.
Mr. Trevor Lloyd was nominated by Clive Smith and seconded by John Nixon. Mr. Lloyd accepted the nomination.
A vote was taken and Mr. Arthur Ebanks was declared the winner by receiving twenty six (26) votes to Mr. Trevor Lloyd’s six (6) votes.
Office of Vice-President
Mr. Phillip Parsons was nominated by Cassius Anglin and seconded by Neville Parker. Mr. Parsons accepted the nomination.
As there were no further nominations, Mr. Parsons was unanimously elected as Vice-President of the Association.
Office of Treasurer
Ms. Michelle Cullen was nominated by Mr. Arthur Ebanks and seconded by Mr. Randy Parchment. Ms. Cullen accepted the nomination.
As there were no further nominations, Ms. Cullen was unanimously elected as Treasurer of the Association.
Office of Secretary
Ms. Miriam Rodriguez was nominated by Mr. Alan Laidlaw and seconded by Mr. Arthur Ebanks. Ms. Rodriguez accepted the nomination.
As there were no further nominations, Ms. Rodriguez was unanimously elected as Secretary of the Association.
Venue Inspector
Mr. Eddie Ballantyne was nominated by Mr. Arthur Ebanks and seconded by Mr. Alan Laidlaw. Mr. Ballantyne accepted the nomination.
As there were no further nominations, Mr. Ballantyne was unanimously elected as Venue Inspector of the Association.
PROSPECTIVE SPONSOR
Mr. Arthur Ebanks introduced a representative of Cayman Distributors who declared that they were interested in getting involved by becoming a sponsor of the Cayman Islands Darts Association. They are interested in starting a “B League” which would be a more relaxed atmosphere for beginners to the game. They would be interested in sponsoring both the “A League” and the “B League”.

There being no further business, the Meeting was duly terminated.
